Update: December 6, 2009

After 2 days of working to fix the Internet Explorer bug that was hiding my left category navigation, I can finally say that I believe I’ve got it licked, but please let me know if you are still seeing this on your computer. This means that starting tomorrow you will start to see the US Soccer Review version 2.0 start to come to life as I go out and find everything that I think might be worth reading for American soccer fans like myself, as well as regularly sharing my thoughts through my Before I Forget column/blog.

There are still some bumps and wrinkles lurking on the site though, but hopefully you will find them only mildly annoying while I work on fixing them in the down-time after my editorial work is done on the site:

  • First an obvious one: some of the new categories are completely empty. This problem should resolve itself rather quickly as I start indexing articles again, but feel free to let me know if you know of any good sources of information to help me more quickly fill in any of these gaps since some of these topics I’ve not covered previously, particularly the new Women’s Pro Soccer teams, as well as some of the non-English Premier League teams that Americans are playing for overseas (or down South).
  • Broken tab display in right column in Internet Explorer.
  • Some old topic pages, along with author and publication index pages from the old search engine are not being re-directed to their current equivalents.

That is all of the biggies that I know of, but as always, please let me know if you see anything significant that I missed, being sure to include the page that you are seeing the problem on and what web browser/operating system you are using.

From the Publisher: December 4, 2009

I’m happy to announce that after many months of silence, and what might have appeared from the outside to have been inactivity, on US Soccer Review, I've just finished launching a long–planned re–design of the site, the first re–design since I launched the site back in 2003 (and I know it showed). Now comes the hard work of squashing bugs, and the fun work of going out again and actually indexing all of the articles related to American soccer that I come across.

Now I’m working on re–categorizing articles from their old categories to some of the new ones, and finding and fixing any of the bugs that I’m currently seeing plus any new ones that might crop up in the troubleshooting. Thanks for your patience during this transition, and hopefully all of the changes will make a significant improvement in both the usefullness, as well as the appearance of the site. Feel free to let me know if you feel otherwise, or if you would like to share any other feedback here.
