Their achievements in Korea in 2002 were certainly worthy of garnering some long-overdue respect, but that was four years ago, in front of less than half as many US TV viewers, plus at an ungodly local hour. This was the middle of a hot Saturday afternoon in June, short-handed, against 3-time World Champions and perennial favorites Italy. This was the beginning of what we've been waiting for, some of us for a very long time.
